Hello. I’m Jo.
I grew up in East London, studied at Central St Martins and have worked in the creative industries for 18 years, 7 of those alongside Alexia Vasilarou as JO + ALEXIA.
My work has been awarded or shortlisted at major industry awards including Cannes, Clios, Creative Circle, British Arrows and Creative Review. Clients I’ve worked with include Ann Summers, Ancestry, Boots, Budweiser, Coca Cola, CeraVe, Cadbury, Dove, eBay, EE, Hellmann’s, Heinz, Ibis, Johnnie Walker, Lancôme, L’Oreal, Mars, Merrell, Paco Rabanne, Unilever, Waitrose, and VISA at agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, JOAN Creative, Ogilvy, Revolt and VMLY&R. I started out in TV working as a promo director for ITV Creative (2015 ITV2 Rebrand, Brit Awards), BBC Creative (Fleabag) 4Creative (Skins, Shameless) Sky, VICE and MTV. During this period my work won multiple Promax Awards (now GEMA).
Outside of work, my podcast So No Kids was selected as podcast of the week by i Newspaper. I’ve curated art for Vans, branded beer for a Manchester football team, written poetry about nights out, and trained to be a yoga teacher.
